Electric Park

Electric Park
The advent of trolley parks in the last two decades of the nineteenth century coincided with the rise in prominence of three units: the electric companies (which quickly grew so fond of the United States were under electrification since the 1800s), the railway companies (as calculated new interurban railway lines mainly in the eastern half of USA), and – starting around 1895 – the replacement of horsedrawn carriages with electric trolley companies. A fourth impact on the growing theme parks in the first decade of the twentieth century was a success Coney Island, which prompted dozens of Electric Park, Luna Park and White City amusement parks (the latter actually inspired of White City in 1893 World's Columbian Exhibition in Chicago), with many metropolitan areas have two (or more) parks with these names.
Most Electric Parks owned by electricity companies and railroad companies, which in turn is owned and operated car companies often had one or more lines that transported workers and customers downtown areas of various cities for their shopping centers and construction sites (after 1900, began intercity trains carrying commuters from one city to another to another). Originally trolleys and intercity trains would either run at a lower level or was idle on weekends, the companies that eventually created new destinations for the public to participate in weekend whether it be a picnic park or (later) a pleasure park. Whatever type of park, were the destinations are owned by the local electric company or access to the electrical called electric trolley parks. After 1903, Luna Park in Coney Island's success (with the park entrance decorated with electric lights) inspired the creation of Electric Park, which spread over throughout North America (at the same time, similarly inspired Frederick Ingersoll began to construct his Luna Park Empire).
Like their Luna Park and White City cousins, a typical Electric Park offered a shoot-the-slides and lagoon, a slide (usually a figure eight or a mountain path), a midway, a Ferris wheel, games and a pavilion. Most also had miniature railways. Many cities had two (or all three) of Electric Park / Luna Park / White City triumvirate in their vicinity … with each trying to outdo others with new attractions. The competition was fierce, often times driving the electric parks out of the market with rising costs for equipment upgrades, maintenance and insurance. More than one couple succumbed to fire. As a result, was going out of business by 1917, the year of introduction of the U.S. in World War I. At that time, troops back to U.S. (in 1919) almost all Electric Park was gone.
